Jemma's Bridals

I feel so lucky to have had the chance to take pictures of such a gorgeous girl. I am so new at the whole photography thing that I was super nervous, but Jemma made it so easy with her amazing photogenicness(just go with it). Yoema (Jemma is just a nickname) and I have been friends for about three years now, and I just love her to death. She is getting married to Matt Gardner, one of Derek's former roommates, who we also love. Seriously, most adorable couple award for sure.

Possibly my favorite. Just pure beauty.

Pinterest

My absolute, new favorite thing!! I am officially addicted to this genius website. It's basically an online pin board where you can collect and share pictures and ideas from other websites. I still love hunting for awesome blogs but the fun thing about Pinterest is that it has such a variety of styles in one place. You may consider it slightly on the female gender side but if more boys got involved it wouldn't have to be like that... hint hint.
Here is the link....Pinterest

Some of my favorites....

Dear Kristen Wiig

Can we please share a closet??....  And be best friends?

I have recently become obsessed with Kristen Wiig's wardrobe, and well, just Kristen Wiig in general. Everything about her hits my funny bone. Of course it originated from the new (awesome) movie, Bridesmaids. Hilarious. But the whole time I was watching the movie, all I could think about was how cute all of her outfits were. Even her lounging around the house, bedtime clothes were super cute. Loving the patterned dresses paired with blazers, and comfy stripped tops with skinny jeans. Her simple gold necklace and skinny gold rings are perfect little details. Plus she always had red nails, which is the only color I love to wear if I ever get the chance to paint them. The best part about her style is that it is totally doable for poor little humans like myself.

Future Us

I came across this lost photo a few days ago. Derek and I had never seen it before and we had to rack our brains to remember when it was taken. We're pretty sure it was just a few weeks before we got married. The weird thing is that when I look at this picture, I see Derek and Kristen like five years from now. We just look so much older to me. It kind of freaked me out at first because I'm so not looking forward to the getting older thing, but then I realized that time really doesn't matter. We were so happy in love then, and are even more so now. Getting older won't change that.
We are coming up on our year anniversary this summer. It's really crazy how fast time flies. We will have been together for four years in November, and it still feels like new.

It's Alright Ma

One of my new goals in life is to focus on finding the unexpected treasure that comes out of a disappointing situation. I'm really starting to believe that it's all in the way you look at things, even though I personally am  terrible at "looking at the brightside". It actually makes me mad when people say that to me. I tend to get really upset when I have my heart set on something and it doesnt work out. But it's becoming clear to me that most of the time, you can enjoy the result no matter what. All you have to do is choose to enjoy it.
Snow in May would usually be considered a major disappointment, but because it was so late in the season, flowers had already bloomed. Snow on flowers is definitely one of those unexpected treasures in my book.
Last night, Derek and I watched a movie called "It's kind of a funny story". It was a good movie but the thing that stood out to me was the moral of the story. It really reminds you to appreciate what you have.

Finder Keepers

"Find of the month" goes to this adorable mauve colored, silk blouse.

My favorite thing to do in my spare time is go thrift store shopping. I love searching for that one perfect item that you would never find anywhere else, and then the best part is paying next to nothing for it. It's a much more rewarding experience than buying something a little pricy simply because you fell in love with it, and then having it ruined the next day when you see your best friend wearing the same thing.
This months find fits me so well and is so stinkin' cute. Plus I'm convinced it's homemade. There is no remnants of a tag and all the seams are very obvious, and slightly uneven. That just makes it all the more special.
I'm so excited to move to Salt Lake because there are so many more cute, vintage shops to discover there.
Gotta love the thrill of the hunt
