Shara's Derby Shower

So you know all of those super cute and crafty ideas that you see on Pinterest?
The ones that you really wish you had the energy and will to even attempt....
The ones that make you wonder who in the hell
actually pulls this stuff off...

Well one of them is my adorable cousin-in-law, Tara
She put together this amazing bridal shower for Shara.
Derby theme!

Brace yourself.... and let the envy begin....

Such a fab idea
to have all of the girls write their advice to the bride on this chalkboard
so she can make an album later

I am so proud of myself...
because I actually contributed
by making the cute buttons that everyone is wearing

Aunt Jennifer and baby Jemma

Had to have the famous sherbet punch!
I love it!

Can't forget the cheesy "Teacup" portraits!

After our scrumptious lunch
of mini croissant sandwiches, punch, corn salsa, and fruit cookie pizzas
we headed over to watch Shara open her gifts
whilst playing some fun games.

Thank you Shara for getting married
so we could come to such a fabulously themed party!

Shara's Family Shower

Filled with beautiful women,
amazing food, and my mom's specialty Sprite and Sherbet Punch (the recipe has really made it's way around),
Shara's Family Shower was a shining success!

She had to chew a piece of gum every time she got a question wrong.
BFF's!
I got her a bath foam from Lush that was covered in gold sparkles... she ended up with sparkles all over her face. Ha ha!!

Stay tuned for the real fun shower...
Tara planned a "Derby" themed shower
that turned out just fabulous!
Pictures to come....

The Birds of Tracy Aviary

Being one block from Liberty Park,
Derek and I have had this goal to actually spend a few hours
exploring the Tracy Aviary.
Instead of just peeking through the fence at the bright Flamingos.

Well, we can finally cross it off of last, last year’s bucket list! Oops.

Poor tundra had to sit this one out..
but being completely honest,
it was actually quite nice for once,
to be free of him while at a park.
Never happens...

But luckily,
I replaced the Tundranator with this adorable dude
called the Bufflehead
I did not want to leave him!

The Tracy Aviary is a pretty neat place.

We saw many, many swans,
and one lonely, wandering Peacock.

Derek became obsessed with Eagles,
And I will forever have nightmares
about the largest, most disgusting King Vulture.
(no picture, it was too scary)

We could not stop staring at the rare Southern Ground Hornbills.
They were sort of scary looking until you get close
and see these long, gorgeous eyelashes.
So cute!!

Derek and I both fell in love with the Owls.
Some so tiny,
some sort of creepy.
Some made us laugh and others made us sad.

My favorite was this little, old man..
weeping behind his chain link home, pretending to know something that I don't
with his deep-rooted, dimming eyes.
...Or maybe he was just pissed off because we interrupted his
afternoon nap

We also got to watch them feed the ducks and swans.
Talk about a frenzy

Swans are MEAN.

Who knew that birds could be so interesting....

Pig & A Jelly Jar

Yes, I did have some delicious, delicious pig,
and I also had 2 jelly jars!

Being that it is right down the street from us,
Derek and I have been trying to get our lazy butts over to
Pig & A Jelly Jar for quite some time now

We finally made it
and it was pretty fabulous!

Bacon was incredible,
 really creative and tasty jams,
and we have heard their drinks are super fun!

** Randomly ran into Derek Snarr, which is seeming to be a pretty regular occurrence in our lives. We must enjoy similar things.
